Forsaken Land
Barren, bleak forsaken
land
upon whose hallowed ground I stand
in rain and mist, in shrouds of grace
envelop me in empty space.
Daylight deepens, darker
now
shadows form and whisper low
through this darkened, sleeping lair
of mystic forces in the air.
I hear their chanting
and their runes
they sing to me of many tunes
of many different times span
of every spirit, every man.
They are wary, but they
see
I pose no threat to
their liberty
They form a circle, I
see a crown
As they close in and
take me down.
Where I reveal my true
intent
A wizard hidden, from on
high sent
To cleanse this foul and
rotting place
Remove this cancerous
disgrace.
Mystic potions will I
weave
this destiny I have to leave
but I will make a wish for you
for all of life, for all
it’s span
for I still love this son of man.
